Why Physics Is Important


Physics is a subject that explains how the world around us works. It has many questions to be answered and secrets to be explored. It explains the smallest units such as quarks and gluons, which forms the building blocks for protons, neutrons, and electrons. It also explains what is at the other end of the scale – gargantuan galaxies and the objects that are present in it. But it all starts small, discovering new concepts in your classroom is the first step to understanding physics.
From a student’s perspective, physics is a very important subject as it unlocks a whole plethora of opportunities from a career to higher education. Any engineering degree will most likely have physics at its core, so it would be beneficial for the students to be familiar with the basics such as Faraday’s laws, magnetic flux, or electromagnetic induction.

Furthermore, physics needs to be understood with experimentation. This solidifies the learning experience and enables a deeper insight into the subject. These factors translate into better marks and the student may garner new found interest for the subject.

In other words, physics is a set of laws that govern how the universe works. From lightning strikes to rocket science, we have an intricate idea of how everything works. But it all changes when we look up at the night sky.

For instance, we know that our universe is made up of matter, same as the ones found on earth. But scientists have speculated that normal matter just makes up about 5-10% of the universe. The rest of the universe is made up of dark matter and dark energy.
